FOXFIELD COALITION/LAW ENFORCEMENT/EMS SERVICES/ AND PRIVATE SECURITY
The Foxfield Races in 2002 joined with the Albemarle County Police Department under the authority of Chief John Miller, the Virginia Alcohol and Beverage Commission under the leadership of Roger Stevens, Special ABC Agent, the University of Virginia Medical Center Emergency Services (EMS), the Virginia State Police, the University of Virginia Police Department, and the Albemarle County Sheriff’s Department and the Commonwealth Attorneyto form the Foxfield Coalition. This coalition of community entities studies to rectify wrongful conduct on Race Day and seeks to optimize, through joined hands, by working together, to make Race Day safe for all attendees. The Coalition’s general policy is to stop all illegal activity that violates the laws of Virginia. Specifically, the Coalition work together to prevent by pro active monitoring under age drinking, adults serving alcohol to minors, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, substance abuse by alcohol or drugs. Offending persons who break the laws of Virginia can face summons or physical arrest to be taken before a magistrate for possible incarceration and bond requirements.
Cerberus Productions, LLC and ESI security have been hired by Foxfield to enforce Foxfield’s rules, regulations, entrances, exits and policies. The Coalition support private security personnel who HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO ASK PATRONS WHO VIOLATE THE SAME TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS ON RACE DAY AFTER A PROFESSIONAL AND CONSIDERATE WARNING FOR THE WELL BEING OF THE RACE COURSE SECUIRTY AND SAFETY. Patrons who do not leave after a warning AND WHO DO NOT CURE THE PROBLEM OR OFFENSE will then face private security personnel accompanied by a law enforcement person who will jointly instruct the offending patron(s) to leave or face a Foxfield requested trespass summons by law enforcement.
UVa Special Event Medical Management provides onsite medical care for minor injuries to life threatening events. The NW Hospital Region mobile hospital is deployed to provide immediate Physician supervised care to the patrons and staff of Foxfield. Persons requiring additional care can be transported by ambulance to an appropriate local hospital including the UVa Health System.
Care facilities are located at the West gate and at the Orange/Green crossover near the center of the infield. Care facilities are designated by a flag with a green cross.
